SOFIA DONAVAN LONDON

In April 2012 Sofia Donavan received an email that would change the course of her music career. Brian Steen, a musician with great experience and contacts in the industry, had emailed her saying he would like to set up a call with the woman who was responsible for discovering celebrated bands Creed, Seether and Evanescence: Diana Meltzer. As a fairly shy 15 year old who had only been writing songs for three years and performing them for less than two, Sofia was ecstatic that such a house hold name had an shown interest in her music. As time passed it was clear that the commitment Diana shows to artists she has faith in is a lot more than a simple 'interest'. Soon after the first call, Diana exhibited her immediate appreciation of Sofia's music by travelling all the way to London (where Sofia lives) in order to see one of her shows. That June Diana flew out again supporting Sofia in what had then been her biggest show ever: a set at the Isle of Wight Festival.

As a young artist starting out in a business that is often recognised for its cut-throat nature, Sofia's confidence and drive was fuelled by the belief Diana instilled in her from day one. This belief has inevitably helped her mature and develop through the years, so much so that last year Sofia released her first EP 'Square One' something that would have never occurred without the support Diana continues to give. Without the backing of such an influential character, Sofia would have not grown to be the artist she is today.

Born genius Sofia Donavan who started writing songs when she was just 12 years old performing at Troubadour, London.
